About Wobble

Typical bold fonts are perfectly straight and geometric. Wobble deliberately breaks that. The sides of the letters swell and narrow slightly, corners are soft, and the letters lean into each other like a happy crowd. Because the shapes are irregular in a controlled way, a line of text has a lively rhythm, as if it were bouncing. The capitals are tall and tight, the lowercase letters are round and compact, and the numbers share the same chunky character.

The download contains TTF and OTF files and a license file explaining the terms. Tips for the best look

Wobble is at its best at large sizes, where you can see the swelling shapes. Keep words short and let the letters sit tightly together; the font looks like a jolly blob of text when the spacing is snug. If two letters touch, that is part of the charm, but keep an eye on legibility.

Color is where the font can really play. Bright, saturated colors such as tomato red, sunshine yellow, turquoise and hot pink match the bubbly shapes. A thick outline in a darker tone gives a sticker effect, and a hard, offset shadow adds a cartoon style. On a plain pastel background, a single word in a bright color becomes a complete design. If you like, add a few simple shapes such as dots, stars or sparkles around the words.
